Vikas Ekstas izstāde Velnezers

No 9. jūnija līdz 18. jūlijam ISSP Galerijā būs aplūkojama Vikas Ekas izstāde "Velnezers".

------------

From June 9 till July 18 the exhibition by Vika Eksta "Devil's Lake" will be on display at the ISSP Gallery. Velnezers (Devil's Lake) or Čertoks - a round and deep lake with intensely green water - is located in the middle of a forest in the Aglona district in Eastern Latvia. Although various myths and secrets surround the lake, there are no records of it in the Archives of Latvian Folklore. Possible, very few ethnographic expeditions have traveled to this region, but perhaps interest in Velnezers has grown only recently. Vika Eksta does not seek to discover the truth, but rather to capture the nature of Velnezers and its peculiar magnetizing force.

David Bate on ISSP

David Bate on ISSP (28 September 2011):

ISSP 2011 was a great experience for me, as I am sure for everyone else who did it. I was amazed at the energy of the event... This is no doubt a 'hothouse environment' which enables passion to turn into production, and production into a critical dialogue and thinking with those who also love photography. Beautifully organized, wonderful location, light and sounds, a real summer treat.

Sākas ISSP Skola

Marcos Lopez on ISSP

Marcos Lopez on ISSP (13 September 2011):

Arno Rafael Minkkinen on ISSP

Arno Rafael Minkkinen on ISSP (7 September 2011):

To answer the famous question one gets later in life - where and with whom did you study - I can’t imagine ISSP students not reflecting back instantly on this amazing time of magical learning, creative abandon, intrepid risk taking - and moonlight dancing - not to mention the endless waterfalls and epiphanies of Kuldiga, the perfect location for it all. I know I would. Com’on, I was a student too!
