Filippo Zambon :: Photo walk in Riga
An open photo walk with current ISSP Riga Residency artist Filippo Zambon (IT/FI)
"Elements of Acceptance and Elements of Dissent"
The streets of the city welcome us with a dense variety of languages and signs. These messages are a key to the complex dynamic of life of the city and its inhabitants, reflected in public space. The "elements of acceptance and elements of dissent" are the signs of an open discussion between the inhabitants of the city, presented to us in different forms, that affect our daily life and shape our collective memory. The ways we notice, document and interpret these, represent the variety of ideas that form the structure of our society.
Filippo is offering a photo walk as a method of exploring the public space of Riga and sharing, through photography and discussion, ideas on the visual elements that create divisions or connections in our society. A photo walk can be a way to widen our understanding of city life and its engraved social and visual codes.
The photo walk is open for everyone interested. Any photographic medium (including smartphone) is welcome and everyone is welcome to join!
14:00 - gathering at the ISSP space, start of the photo walk;
~17:00 - return to the ISSP, coffee and discussion;
19:00 (optional) - film screening "Icaros: a Vision".
Participation is free of charge.
The discussion will be held in English.
