Aicinām neformālā gaisotnē iepazīties ar divu mākslinieču, kuras patlaban uzturas ISSP Rīgas Rezidencē, darbiem.
Sāra Palmjēri ir māksliniece, kas izmanto fotogrāfiju, lai apšaubītu realitātes neredzamos aspektus, veidojot darbus, kuros laiks un telpa ir gan instrumenti, gan pētītie objekti. 2015. gadā viņa piedalījās ISSP Starptautiskajā meistarklasē, ko vadīja amerikāņu fotogrāfs, publicists un kurators Ārons Šūmans. Viņas darbi izstādīti starptautiski gan festivālos, gan galerijās, tostarp Matèria Gallery, Fotohaus ParisBerlin Gallery Arlā, fotogrāfijas festivālā Internazionale di Roma, Focus Photography festivālā, Landskronas Fotofestivālā, Obscura festivālā, Wuho Gallery, LA., un publicēti žurnālos "The British Journal of Photography", "Photoworks Annual", "Gup" u.c.. Viņa ir pašizdevusi divas grāmatas - "M." un "La plume plongea la tête", kas 2016. gadā saņēma Marco Bastianelli balvu kā labākā pašizdotā grāmata Itālijā. Viņas darbs izvēlēts kolektīvai grāmatai "A Place Wonderful un Strange" (izdevniecība "Fuego Books"). Sāra dzīvo un strādā Romā.

Anna Hornika (dz. 1990. g. Cešinā, Polijā) ir vizuālā māksliniece, absolvējusi Fotogrāfijas akadēmiju Krakovā, Polijā, un patlaban studē Radošās fotogrāfijas institūtā Silēzijas Universitātē Opavā, Čehijā. Viņas darbi prezentēti "Slideluck" pasākumos Boloņā, Kigali un Līhajas ielejā (2014). Viņas pirmā personālizstāde notika īrētā dzīvoklī Varšavā. Šogad viņa izdeva savu pirmo fotogrāmatu "Tu nekur netiksi" ("You ain't going nowhere" - pašizdota 50 eksemplāros, roku darbs). Anna dzīvo un strādā Varšavā.

A meeting with two artists with very different backgrounds who are currently taking part in the ISSP Riga Residency programme.
Sara Palmieri is a visual artist using photography to question the non-visible aspects of reality, through a process where time and space are both the working instruments and the investigated objects. With a background as an architect, she took part to the ISSP International Masterclass with Aaron Schuman in 2015. Her work has been exhibited internationally in galleries and festivals such as Matèria Gallery, Fotohaus ParisBerlin Gallery Arles, Fotografia Festival Internazionale di Roma, Focus Photography Festival, Landskrona Fotofestival, Obscura Festival, Wuho Gallery, L.A., and featured in The British Journal of Photography, Photoworks Annual, GUP magazine, Yogurt magazine, Wittykiwy, etc. She has self-published two artist books, 'M.' and 'La plume plongea la tête', that received Premio Marco Bastianelli for the best Italian self-published book in 2016. Her work 'Scenario' was chosen to take part in a collective book 'A Place Both Wonderful and Strange' (Fuego Books). Sara lives and works in Rome.
Anna Hornik (b. 1990 in Cieszyn, Poland), photographer and visual artist, graduated the Academy of Photography in Krakow, Poland and is currently a student in the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava, Czech Republic. Her work was presented on Slideluck in Bologna, Kigali and Lehigh Valley (2014). Her first solo show took place in a rented apartment in Warsaw. This year she published her first photobook called 'You ain't going nowhere' (self published, edition of 50 copies, hand-bound). Anna lives and works in Warsaw.

Come to meet our current Artists in Residence - German-raised Vietnamese photographer Lê Quyên Nguyễn, Latvian-born UK photographer Agnese Gutovska, and an artist from Los Angelos Mike Saijo! They will be talking about their work, and we will open a pop-up exhibition delving into the realities of the Vietnamese diaspora in Riga by Lê Quyên Nguyễn!

We invite you to meet our current artist in residence, photographer Theo Elias on 25 July, 19.00 at Bolderāja! Theo will speak about his work, including the project he has been developing in Latvia since 2018 when he was the first artist to take part in the ISSP Riga residency.
We are pleased to invite you to a meeting with two visual artists and educators from Adelaide, South Australia - Amber Cronin and Tom Borgas on 15th July at 7 p.m.! Ielūdzam uz kino vakaru 23. jūlijā plkst. 19.00 ISSP telpās kontekstā ar ISSP Galerijā skatāmo izstādi “Mūsdienu fotogrāfijas vēstures II” (autori: Annemarija Gulbe un Konstantīns Žukovs)! Izstādē māksliniece Annemarija Gulbe pētījusi fotogrāfa, operatora un režisora Ulda Brauna mantojumu – fotogrāfijā, kā arī viņa vienīgajā spēlfilmā “Motociklu vasara” (1975), veidojot savu refleksiju par to un aicinot atskatīties atpakaļskata spogulī.
Valmieras vasaras teātra festivāla nedēļā laikā no 31. jūlija līdz 4. augustam Valmieras pilsētas iedzīvotājiem un viesiem būs iespēja aplūkot ISSP veidoto vides objektu “Melnais kubs - Camera Obscura”. Tiks organizētas arī pavadošās radošās meistarklases, piedāvājot apmeklētājiem mūsdienīgu un unikālu kultūrizglītojošo pieredzi.
ISSP Galerijā 4. jūlijā plkst. 18.00 Rīgas Fotogrāfijas biennāles 2024 ietvaros tiks atklāta otrā daļa divu izstāžu ciklam “Mūsdienu fotogrāfijas vēstures”, kurā atspoguļotas vairāku mākslinieku versijas un interpretācijas par vietējās fotogrāfijas vēstures rakstīšanas procesiem. Izstādē piedalās mākslinieki Annemarija Gulbe un Konstantīns Žukovs, un tā būs skatāma no 5. jūlija līdz 15. augustam.
